An 18-year-old woman and 20-year-old man face criminal charges in connection with the death of a four-month-old baby in Rock Island, Illinois.
Police said they were called to a report of an unresponsive child just after 4 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Maple Ridge Apartments, 3700 Fifth Street.
The baby was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
Police said they arrested two people who live at the apartment where they were called. Police said Lavail Dunbar, 20, and Leila Martin, 18, were each charged with first-degree murder and aggravated battery of a child.
Dunbar and Martin were held in the Rock Island County Jail.
