Just five and a half hours after the Riverboat Development Authority meets Monday, the Davenport City Council meets in its own special session.

The Davenport City Council will discuss two separate casino proposals Monday. One comes from the Scott County Casino group and developer Dan Kehl. The other one comes from the Davenport Casino Group and local developer Rodney Blackwell.

The Riverboat Development Authority is the group that chose Kehl to develop a new casino in Davenport. Kehl wants to build a $110 million casino somewhere along I-80.

On September 7th and 8th, Davenport received a late proposal from Blackwell. He submitted a proposal with the Clairvest group out of Canada. Together, they want to build a $250 million casino near I-80 and I-74.

RDA Chairman Gary Mohr says his group cannot talk to Blackwell now because of contract negotiations with the Isle of Capri. The RDA meets at noon Monday at the New Ventures Center in downtown Davenport. The Davenport City Council meets at 5:30 p.m. at Davenport City Hall.
