Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois cut the ribbon on its new Center for Student Life on Saturday, September 14th, 2013.
The $21-million library renovation and expansion project took 18 months to complete.
They say it's a place where students can learn, study, and socialize all under one roof.
"So much learning takes place at Augustana outside the classroom," says Steven Bahls, President of Augustana College. "Students ought to have an attractive place to continue discussions in the classroom with faculty and their classmates over lunch and dinner."
The center includes study space, a new dining hall, student organization offices, and meetings rooms.
