Riverboat Development Authority Board Chairman Gary Mohr told us Friday there is a good chance the RDA will vote on Monday at its board meeting.

The vote would be to give casino developer Dan Kehl an operator's contract to build a new casino in Davenport. The RDA is the group tasked with giving a new casino a gaming license.

For a year and a half now, there have been continuous discussions of moving the Rhythm City Casino off the riverfront and onto land. The RDA and the city of Davenport have disagreed for a long time now on who should develop the new casino.

In late May, the RDA chose casino developer Dan Kehl as their preferred choice, but on September 8th and 9th, local developer Rodney Blackwell came out with another proposal. He wants to build a casino with the Clairvest group out of Toronto. They want the casino near the I-80 and I-74 intersection. On September 11th, the city of Davenport tabled their vote with Kehl to look into Blackwell's proposal more.

Kehl has struggled so far to find a site residents are okay with in Davenport. Regardless, the RDA meeting is set for 12 p.m. Monday at the New Ventures Center in downtown.
