A Davenport man faces criminal charges after he allegedly sold heroin to another man who overdosed and died.

Police said 53-year-old Daniel Charles Hansen of Davenport bought heroin from 50-year-old Cornell Miller on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.

Hansen "ingested it, resulting in a medical emergency reaction" according to a spokesman for the Davenport Police Department.  Hansen was taken to Genesis East Hospital.

Investigators searched Miller's apartment on East Locust Street, where they said they found evidence that Miller had sold the heroin to Hansen just before Hansen's death.

Jail records show Miller was arrested on charges of involuntary manslaughter and delivery of a schedule IV or schedule V substance.

Miller was held in the Scott County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
