Galesburg officials are offering help for residents cleaning up after storms left behind downed limbs.
Storms that moved through Galesburg early on Saturday, September 8, 2013 caused some damage, especially to trees.
The city’s drop-off facility for oversized brush will be available to residents beginning Tuesday, September 10 through Saturday, September 14. The facility, located just west of Farm King at 636 Pickard Road, will be open from 8:30 am. to 4:30 p.m. each of those days. After September 14, the facility will resume regular operation on Fridays and Saturdays only from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
City crews will also pick up tree limbs and storm debris curbside beginning Monday, September 16. The curbside pickup coincides with Galesburg’s Fall Clean Up Days. Residents should stack limbs at the curb before September 16. Storm debris should also be stacked separate from household solid waste and away from power poles, cable boxes and fire hydrants.
