Quad City construction projects pop up at start of work week

As the work week begins, so do several Quad City construction projects.

The City of Moline said beginning Monday, September 9, 2013 crews will be working on 27th Street from 11th Ave. A to 12th Ave. The north side of 27th Street will be closed to traffic but 12th Ave. will stay open.

Detours will be set-up for drivers on 27th Street.

Work will be done by Valley Construction Company, and is scheduled to be complete on September 16.

The City of Rock Island announced construction beginning on Monday at the intersection of 12th Street and 23rd Ave.

Crews will be removing and replacing pavement on 12th Street, causing traffic detours around the intersection. Underground utility work will also be done along 23rd Ave. Through traffic will not be allowed along 23rd Ave. between 12th and 14th Streets. This roadway may be closed to through traffic up until January of 2014.

Drivers can expect travel delays around the construction location.

It is estimated that crews will be working to complete the projects for several weeks at the 12th Street intersection.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be closing part of Menominee Road between the eastbound and westbound lanes of US Route 20 on Monday, according to the Jo Daviess County Highway Department.

Crews will be painting the bridge along US Route 20 that crosses over Menominee Road.

Menominee Road is scheduled to reopen on Friday, September 13.

According to IDOT a lane on Airport Road in Milan near exit 15 in the eastbound left lane and the turn lane. The eastbound on-ramp will become accessible after drivers pass the closure.

Workers will be performing full-depth concrete patching. Crews will begin working Monday at 9 a.m. and be finished by noon on Wednesday.
