Burlington residents may have seen or heard some commotion around the airport on Saturday morning. Not to worry – it was just a drill.

According to the Burlington Fire Department, a full scale drill at the Burlington Regional Airport was held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10 a.m. The drill was a simulation of a drowned aircraft with multiple victims.

Driving to and from the set-up were emergency fire vehicles, EMS, and police cars, said the deputy chief of the Burlington Fire Department.

The Burlington Fire Department, Burlington Regional airport and Des Moines County Emergency Management organized the drill.
