(CNN) — Former Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts is heading back to Iowa this fall, adding to his calendar another stop to the important voting state for the GOP presidential nomination.
The Scott County Republican Party announced Thursday that Brown will be the featured speaker for its 2013 Ronald Reagan Dinner on November 12.
Brown went to the Iowa State Fair last month, where he told reporters he was interested in meeting voters in the state, the first to hold a presidential nominating contest in election years. He has also suggested he’s open to running for the U.S. Senate in New Hampshire, where he owns a vacation home. But he announced late last month he won’t be running for governor of Massachusetts in 2014, a gig he was rumored to be going after.
Brown was elected to the Senate in 2010 in a special election to fill the seat vacated by the late Sen. Ted Kennedy. His time in office didn’t last long; he was defeated in November by Democrat Elizabeth Warren.
Since leaving Capitol Hill, Brown has worked as a contributor at Fox News, served as a colonel in the Army National Guard’s office at the Pentagon, and as an attorney at the Boston law firm of Nixon Peabody.
