Heavy smoke and flames were reported when firefighters were sent to a burning house in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Initial reports indicated uncertainty about whether there might be anyone inside the home at 24750 Valley Drive when the fire was reported at about 9:45 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2013. First responders did not initially report finding anyone in the home.
Firefighters from LeClaire were sent to help fight the fire.
The fire was quickly brought under control.
Volunteers from the American Red Cross of the Quad Cities Area were also sent to help the family displaced by the fire.
