Bike shop and Chicago Bears help Diabetes Association

A Rock Island bike shop and a couple of Bears are working together to help the cause of a kid who raises money for a charity that is near and dear to him.

For over a decade Steve Depron, from The Bike and Hike Shop, has supplied bikes for the Chicago Bears training camps. Two bikes supplied to the MLB team have been returned, autographed by Charles Tillman and Tim Jennings. These bikes will be raffled-off to help the cause of Cooper Christensen, a boy with diabetes who has been raising money for the Diabetes Association for several years.

“When cooper raises money, not only does it help the Diabetes Association, but it allows him to go to Diabetes Camp where he gets to be with other young children that have been stricken with the disease as well,” said Depron.

Raffle tickets to win the Tillman bike are being sold for $10. You can purchase tickets at The Hike and Bike Shop in Rock Island. All money raised will go to the Diabetes Association.

The drawing will be held on Sunday, September 29.
