Alex Tanney

Former Monmouth College quarterback Alex Tanney cleared waivers and has been signed by the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

News 8 Sports first reported Tanney’s move to the Cowboys in July.

A post on the Monmouth College website says Tanney, who was an undrafted free agent out of college, will be assigned to the Cowboys’ practice squad.  If Tanney moves to the team’s final roster, it would make Dallas the only NFL team with two undrafted quarterbacks on its 53-man roster.

The move to Dallas follows Tanney spending a season on injured reserve for the Kansas City Chiefs.
