What began as a report of a disturbance turned into a police chase and an officer reportedly being dragged by a car.
According to the Dixon Police Department, on Sunday, September 1, 2013, officers were called to a report of a disturbance around 8 p.m. A preliminary investigation showed that a Dixon Police Officer was allegedly dragged by the suspect vehicle, which fled from officers. The officer suffered minor injuries.
Police said officers chased the vehicle, which then crashed on Illinois Route 2 near Sink Hollow Road.
The driver was transported to an area hospital before being airlifted to another, according to Dixon police.
The status of the driver’s injuries are unknown at this time.
