Construction continues on Davenport's Riverfront Trail

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are asking residents to stay off the City of Davenport’s Riverfront Trail over the Labor Day Weekend.

The trail has been closed for months so crews could install a flood wall.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said on August 28, 2013 that although the wall has been completed, the trail’s edges have vertical drop offs of approximately 10 to 12 inches, which could be a safety hazard.

They expect the trail to reopen after work wraps up in about two to three weeks.
