The registration deadline is approaching for voters participating in the Scott County school elections.

The pre-registration deadline is Friday, August 30, 2013. Residents can register at the Scott County Auditor’s Office or at a driver’s license station.

Anyone who is not pre-registered by Friday can register at the polls on Election Day or at the Auditor’s Office and vote absentee before Election Day. These options require registrants to prove their identities by providing a picture ID like a driver’s license. Registrants must also be able to provide proof of residency if the ID card doesn’t list a current address.

According to the Scott County Auditor, three positions will be voted upon for the Bettendorf School Board, the Davenport School Board, and the North Scott School Board. Pleasant Valley will have positions for director districts one, two, three, six, and seven. Eastern Iowa Community College District will have positions for director districts one, two, six, and eight on the ballots.

A public measure to approve the physical plant and equipment property tax levy will appear on the Bettendorf School District ballot. The Davenport School District ballot will have a public measure to update the district’s revenue purpose statement for the use of the district’s portion of the state sales tax dedicated to schools.

The Auditor’s Office will be open until 5 p.m. on Friday for voters wanting to register.

On Tuesday, September 10 polls for the school election will be open from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
