A 56-year-old Rock Falls man was arrested after he allegedly struck a stop sign and then a building with the car he was driving.

A 56-year-old Rock Falls man was arrested after he allegedly struck a stop sign and then a building with the car he was driving.

Police said a car driven by Mark Duncan slid into a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. Route 30 and Prophet Road at about noon Monday, August 26, 2013.

Duncan reportedly continued driving eastbound and crashed the car into the CMS Appliance store at 1301 West Route 30.

Police said passengers riding in the car said Duncan was driving recklessly before the crash.

Whiteside County Sheriff’s deputies cited Duncan for driving too fast for conditions, leaving the scene of a property damage crash and driving while his license was revoked.
