The John Deere Classic Birdies for Charity program gave away a 2013 Chevy Equinox to Linda Miner of Moline Tuesday morning.
Every year, donors try guessing the correct number of birdies that will be made during the five days of the John Deere Classic. The people who guess the correct number of birdies have a chance to win a car.
This year, the number of birdies made at the classic were 2,142. There were five groups of people who guessed that number correctly. They were Eddie West of Davenport, Karen Rohlf of Davenport, Larry and Jan Wiersema of Morrison, Linda Miner of Moline, and Tim and Barbara Carstens of Bettendorf.
All five contestants win a ticket package to the 2014 John Deere Classic. The JDC kicks off July 7th at TPC Deere Run.
Birdies for Charity also teemed up with local Chevy Dealers to raise money for 500 local charities. This is the 14th year a car has been given to the grand prize winner.
