QC construction projects

Crews are planning to start work on various construction projects around the Quad Cities.

Crews are planning to start work on various construction projects around the Quad Cities.

As crews work on pavement patching, a Bettendorf street will be closed at various locations for roughly three weeks.

Starting on Monday, August 26, 2013, according to the Bettendorf Public Works Department, one lane of 53rd Ave. from the west city limits to Devils Glen Road will be closed in various locations on both sides of the center median.

During the first two weeks of work, an eastbound left turn lane will be constructed at Devils Glen Road for vehicles turning north. At least one lane will be open at all times.

How long the project takes and the day it starts is dependent on weather.

A pavement patching project is also starting in East Moline on Monday.

The patching and reconstruction project will close 47th Ave. to through traffic between 7th and 9th Streets. Completion is estimated for sometime in October.

Also in Bettendorf, construction crews are working on the sidewalks on State Street. The project spans from Devils Glen Road to the Duck Creek Bridge.

No road closures are expected, however, single lanes could close as work is completed. The project is expected to last for less than three months.
