The memory of a Quad City student who was murdered in 2005 is being kept alive by friends and family with an annual event.

The 8th annual Adrianne Reynolds Memorial Car Wash was held in Silvis at the Hy-Vee parking lot on Saturday, August 24, 2013.

Each year organizers collect donations for the Blackhawk Outreach Center to help area residents earn their GEDs.

“My brother-in-law helps me and some of Adrianne’s friends are here and she’s been gone 8 years now and her friends still come and help and that means a lot,” Adrianne’s father, Tony Reynolds said.

Tony said that Saturday’s event raised the most money they have ever raised in the event’s history.
