A driver died after being thrown from their vehicle in a head-on collision, authorities say.

According to the Illinois State Police, on Friday, August 23, 2013 a 46-year-old man driving a semi was traveling eastbound on Illinois Route 9 near Fulton County shortly before 11 a.m. At that time, an Impala being driven by 82-year-old Chellis Evans was coming from the opposite direction and crossed over the center line.
