Two men in their twenties are accused of assaulting a 15-year-old boy to steal his bicycle and $10 from his pockets.

Police said the boy told them he was riding his bike in Silvis just after 9 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 when two men approached him and asked for money.

When the 15-year-old said he had no money, 21-year-old Zachary Tunnell and 20-year-old Keswan Simmons allegedly punched the teenager in the head, knocking him off his bike. Police said the men took $10 from the teen’s pockets and also took his bike.

Silvis Police said the injured teen flagged down an officer for help. Police chased Tunnell and Simmons on foot and caught them at a home on 7th Street.

Police said they found the bicycle but not the money.

The two men face charges of aggravated battery and robbery.

Officials said the injured teen was taken to an area hospital, treated and released.
