More than 500 first-year St. Ambrose University students volunteered at a variety of Quad Cities locations as part of the university's Welcome Week.

Students volunteered at sites including Nahant Marsh, Gilda's Club, Friendly House, Hilltop Village and Vander Veer Park on Monday, August 19, 2013.   Their volunteer work involved cleanup, landscaping, moving furniture and helping senior citizens use technology and the internet.

The annual 'Urban Plunge' gives students a chance to meet other students and to become familiar with some sites in the community near their campus.  The event also supports the St. Ambrose mission of service to others.
