Scott County authorities said a motorcycle skidded more than 200 feet when it was rear ended by a car in Riverdale.

The crash was reported just after 1 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Fenno Road and State Street in eastern Scott County near Bettendorf.

Police said a southbound car was turning left to go east on State Street when it struck the left rear of a motorcycle.

“This sent the motorcycle and driver into a side skid with the motorcycle coming to a stop just approximately over 200 feet and the driver approximately 125 feet from point of impact,” said a statement from accident investigator Deputy S. Thompson of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

The motorcyclist, a 62-year-old man from Port Byron, Illinois, suffered multiple injuries which were believed to be non-life-threatening at the time of the crash.  Police said he was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the car, a 23-year-old woman from Taylor Ridge, Illinois, was cited for failing to obey a stop or yield sign.
