Hobby Lobby, in the old Menard’s building near John Deere Road, opened in Moline.
On Friday, August 16, 2013 the store opened its doors to Hobby Lobby customers. About 75 people have been hired.
Store manager, Lanny Herron said customers have expressed their joy to have the store on the Illinois side of the Quad Cities.
“That’s probably the biggest thing I hear, ‘Oh my God, I’m glad you guys are on this side of the river,’” Herron said. “It’s a good organization and like I said, we’re really glad to be here.”
The store’s grand opening will be on Monday, August 19.
