(HLNtv.com) — A&E’s “Duck Dynasty” may be one of the biggest reality TV successes in recent memory, but one of the stars said he and his famously wild beard have been victims of “facial profiling.”

Jase Robertson was in New York with his family this week promoting the fourth season of the series when, he said, an employee at the Trump International Hotel — where he was staying — kicked him out after mistaking him for a homeless man.

“I think it was a facial profiling deal,” Robertson joked while recounting the incident on “Live with Kelly and Michael” this week.

“I asked where the bathroom was, and he said, ‘Right this way, sir.’ He was very nice,” Robertson said. “He walked me outside, pointed down the road and said, ‘Good luck. Have a good day.'”

“He just didn’t know,” Robertson said, confirming that, despite the incident, he and his family decided to stay at the hotel.

Wednesday’s season premiere of “Duck Dynasty” drew nearly 12 million viewers to become the “No. 1 nonfiction series telecast in cable history,” according to A&E.
