Members of a long time Quad City gym could be closer to getting answers after it suddenly shut down. The owner found a new buyer late Tuesday night, August 13, 2013. However, up until now, members had no idea what the future held for the gym.

"Do we go get another gym membership some place else, do we wait and see," said member Erin Bowling.

Some Fitness First Plus members say they were shocked to see a sign on the door over the weekend saying it was permanently closed. While Bowling says she had a feeling something was up.

"The night before about three am, they were packing up some things in some semi trucks, I had heard it. It woke me up," said Bowling.

On Tuesday, August 13, 2013 equipment was being loaded up into trucks. Besides being left in the dark some members are still being billed.

"I noticed just yesterday they withdrew the money out of my account for my monthly membership," said member, Lynn Hoyt.

Hoyt has been a member for 12 years.

"I'm really upset by the fact that they took the money out knowing the doors were closing," said Hoyt.

Hoyt is hoping she will be refunded.

"I called my bank and did a stop payment and I was hoping I could stop payment on this one, but they said it was too late," said Hoyt.

A lot of answers gym members are hoping to get.

"I would like to know are you going to reopen, are we gonna get a refund? I feel like we should notified in some way," said Hoyt.

The gym had to be closed because they were behind on rent payments. The current owner said the new management hopes to back open by the weekend, if not Monday, August 19, 2013 the latest. All memberships will be grandfathered in.
