When I wake up in the morning before heading to work I like to be efficient. I usually don’t make time for a sit down breakfast or turn on the t.v.. Grabbing food on the go can be a little tricky if you want to be healthy. Grabbing an apple or a banana doesn’t work for me since I know I’ll be hungry a couple hours later. I recently started drinking smoothies.
Smoothies can be made with anything your heart desires to throw into the blender. If you want it to turn out just right though, you may want to do a little research first. That’s where I made my first mistake.
How hard can it be to make a smoothie? My first couple of times my smoothie had the consistency of a milkshake. I’m not a big milkshake drinker and it definitely didn’t fill me up. Yes, I had even added ice.
The trick do a good smoothie is frozen fruit. You don’t have to buy pre-packaged frozen fruit either. I just buy all fresh, wash and cut them, and throw the fruits in the freezer. My morning smoothies are fast, nutritious and simple! Besides, with some fruits still in season, they are sweet and tasty as ever! Maybe this will save you a trip through the drive-thru :)
