A man driving a motorcycle in western Aledo was seriously injured after colliding with a truck, police said.
On Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 3:30 p.m., police were called to the accident on Illinois Route 17, according to the Aledo Police Department.
Police say 49-year-old Earl Allen, from Louisiana, was heading eastbound on his motorcycle on IL Rt. 17 when he collided with a truck being driven by 40-year-old John McAtee, who was westbound on the roadway.
Allen was taken from the scene to an area hospital via ambulance before being airlifted to Peoria, officials say.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene, according to police.
