Clinton, Iowa Police say victims captured one of two men who broke into an occupied home.

A man initially identified by police as 21-year-old Jason Monroe, and another man, were armed with an handgun when they allegedly broke into a home in the 1200 block of South Ninth Street Tuesday, August 6, 2013.

Police said they later determined the man initially identified as Jason Monroe is actually 21-year-old Shawn T. Jones.

When police arrived at a call to that home at about 4 p.m., they found Jones being detained by several people there.   Jones was taken from the to an area hospital where he was treated and later released.

The second suspect fled and had not yet been caught.  A handgun was found near the crime scene.

Jones was charged with first-degree burglary and possession of a firearm as a felon.  He was held in the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash-only bond.
