A Muscatine motorcyclist died after his three-wheel-motorcycle collided head-on with a deer.

Police were called to the crash near 83rd Ave. and Coonhunters Road, between Buffalo and Bluegrass, around 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2013.

Police said the motorcycle was eastbound on Coonhunters Road when a deer ran into the road. The motorcycle hit the deer head-on, throwing 63-year-old Larry Brasch 90-feet before he landed in a ditch on the south side of the road.

Brasch was airlifted to an area hospital where he later died.

The deer was a four- to five-point buck and it was killed in the crash.

Police say Brasch was not wearing a helmet.
