Several families have been forced out of their homes after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Milan.

The fire happened around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, in the 2000-block of West 4th Street.

The building has smoke and water damage, according to the Chief of the Black Hawk Fire Department. He said the cause has not been found yet, but the fire did start in the furnace-area of the apartment building.

There were no injuries reported.

The American Red Cross responded to offer basic needs like food and a place to stay to those who live in that building.
