Man arrested in connection with Dixon burglaries

After receiving 20 reports of burglaries, Dixon Police arrested a man who is allegedly responsible for some of them.

According to the chief of police, 20-year-old Tyler Power was charged with nine counts of burglary and possession of a stolen firearm. He was arrested on Friday, August 2, 2013 around 1 p.m. on an arrest warrant with a $100,000 bond.

Police say within the last five weeks, Dixon residents reported vehicles and garages being burglarized.

Power was taken to the Lee County Jail, according to police.

The Dixon Police Department is recommending that all valuable items be removed from vehicles and all doors remain locked to avoid burglaries.
