A woman had a big birthday surprise as she revisited an old skill.
For her 90th birthday, Lois Duncan was surprised with a flight around the Quad Cities, and although she had her pilot’s license before she could even drive, Lois hadn’t flown for roughly 20 years.
“That was a lot of fun,” said her granddaughter, Jen McCarter. “I was kind of nervous. I’ve never been in a plane that small, but that was a lot of fun.”
The Quad City Area Flying Eagles and Lois’ family were responsible for the surprise. Her family came from New York, Tennessee, and Kansas for the event.
“It’s just something I’ve always wanted to do with her,” said McCarter. “I’m just so happy I got to do that.”
