Assumption baseball will play in the championship game after winning the Class 3A semifinals against Sioux City Heelan.
The semifinal was at Principal Park in Des Moines on Friday, August 2, 2013. Davenport Assumption won 7-6 in 9 innings, moving forward to play Clear Lake on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Assumption has won eight state championships in its history.
