Harrison Street in Davenport is undergoing some restructuring, causing changes for drivers.
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, the right lane of Harrison Street will be closed from 18th Street – 5th Street. Crews are painting parking spaces and new signs are being installed.
After completion of the project, Harrison Street will be a three-lane street between 18th and 5th Streets. Parking will be available in the west lane.
According to a City Traffic Engineer, the Hilltop Campus Village asked the Illinois Department of Transportation for on-street parking on the roadway as to provide a buffer between pedestrians and traffic, as well as more parking.
