The auditor for Monona County, Iowa faces a criminal charge after state police accused her of trying to buy drugs from a trooper.
The day before the arrest, an Iowa State Trooper seized a phone from an alleged methamphetamine dealer. Police said Monoma County auditor Brooke Kuhlmann, 27, then arranged a drug purchase via a call that involved that seized phone.
“Shortly after Kuhlmann retrieved the drugs, Onawa Police executed a traffic stop and she was taken into custody for questioning,” said a statement from Iowa State Police.
Court records show Kuhlmann faces one count of possession of a controlled substance.
Kuhlmann was arrested and later released Monday, July 29, 2013.
