Allegiant Air will offer non-stop service from the Quad Cities to southwest Florida beginning November 1, 2013.

The new flight is one of three non-stop trips between airports in Iowa and Punta Gorda Airport in Florida.   The new flights will operate twice weekly between Quad City International Airport and Punta Gorda beginning November 1, 2013.  Service between Cedar Rapids and Punta Gorda is set to begin December 18, and service between Des Moines and Punta Gorda is set to start December 19.

The additions are part of Allegiant adding service between Punta Gorda and eight U.S. cities before the end of the year.

Allegiant planned a $99-each-way introductory rate for flights between the Quad Cities and Punta Gorda for tickets purchased by August 6, 2013 for travel by February 11, 2014.

The flights between the Quad Cities and Punta Gorda will be seasonal between November and April.  Allegiant’s online schedules showed the flights would be available Mondays and Fridays.

Punta Gorda is about 25 miles north of Ft. Meyers.
