Caleb Redell, an organizer, helped with an event in Davenport that raised money for the Wounded Warrior Project- an organization whose mission is to “honor and empower Wounded Warriors.” The organization helps them find jobs, get counseling, and get them moving again.

The weekend-long benefit continues Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28, at Club Privileged located downtown Davenport.

On Saturday from 11 a.m. – 2 a.m. Sneaking Suspicions was scheduled to play, and Sunday will be karaoke from 11 a.m. – 2 a.m. Those at the benefit can buy a pulled pork sandwich or burger (both with a side) for $5. The weekend also includes a 50/50 raffle and a Bags tournament.

Redell said it’s nice for the military to know they have support from the community.

“Somebody’s thinking about you outside. Your family’s there, people visit, but somebody that you don’t know at all kind of takes time out of their day to come and do something like that,” said Redell.

The event is located at 813 W. 2nd Street in Davenport.
