Hundreds of students gathered at the Brady Street Stadium for the annual Brady Street Games in Davenport.

600 kindergarten through fifth grade students joined in the third annual event Friday, July 26, 2013. The day was filled with activities like track events, cup stacking, softball throw, and an obstacle course- all for the purpose of getting kids active during their break from school.

One event that was new this year was the Shoe Tying event- which was timed.

In this community especially in the Iowa Quad Cities there are so many different opportunities for students in the summer,” said program manager, Shaney Ford. “Students are able to participate in a positive manner.”

The event was part of the Stepping Stones Program which promotes an active lifestyle while providing learning opportunities.
