Police say they arrested a second woman in connection with a meth lab bust in a Silvis, Illinois apartment.

Maralee West was arrested after police searched her Silvis apartment Thursday, July 18, 2013.  Police said West had meth-making materials in her apartment.  The local charges were dropped when she was charged in federal court with making and distributing methamphetamine.

Police said they arrested 30-year-old Christina Kern of Colona in connection with the case.  Kern faces a federal charge of conspiracy to distribute and manufacture methamphetamine.

Kern was held in the Rock Island County Jail while she awaited her first appearance in federal court.
