Local high schools are competing to see who can bring in the most blood donations.

The annual challenge will take place Monday, July 22, 2013 from 10 a.m. – 7p.m. at NorthPark and SouthPark Malls.

All members of the community are welcome to donate to the school of their choice. The winning school will be the one to collect the most units of blood during the drive.

Donors who are 16-years-of-age may donate with a signed parental consent form, otherwise anyone 17-years and older may donate. Consent forms for 16-year-olds are available at each drive location and parents must be there to sign.

Each location will be giving t-shirts to the first 75 donors of the day.

The Grand Prizes will be given to each of the winning Iowa and Illinois High Schools and includes the “Pay it Forward Award,” $250 toward the food charity of the school’s choice, and other items which will be revealed on the day of the blood-drive.
