Since the announcement of Rolling Stone’s issue featuring a suspect of the Boston bombing on the cover, stores have been refusing to sell copies at their establishments.
According to KCCI, Hy-Vee stores are joining the list. They have decided not to carry the magazine based on customer feedback.
“At Hy-Vee, we listen to our customers and take their needs, wishes and viewpoints into account when deciding what products and services we will offer in our stores,” said a spokesperson from Hy-Vee. “Based on the feedback we received, we decided to ask our stores not to display or sell this issue.”
The issue is set to hit newsstands Friday, July 19, 2013.
