Moline crews were still on scene of a water main break early Thursday morning. The break happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

It happened in the 2600 block of Fourth Avenue just north of the Riverside Park and Pool. A viewer submitted us video of the water main break Wednesday. The break had closed 4th Avenue in Moline for a short amount of time Wednesday.

Thursday morning, crews had cleaned up the water out on the street, but they had still not fixed the pipe. Five workers were on scene at about 6 a.m. Thursday,

Crews say that Wednesday's heat may have caused the pipe to burst in the ground. Fourth Avenue is back open to traffic, but only one lane was open at 6 a.m.

A boil order is in effect for 30 or so residents near 26th Street and Fourth Avenue. Workers on scene say the boil order will likely be in effect for the rest of Thursday.
