It was after a storm last Memorial Day weekend when Malora Redman's life changed forever.

Redman, an Eagle Watcher from Port Byron, Illinois, found an injured bald eagle in the park in May 2012. She got in touch with "Hoo" Haven in Durand, Illinois, which came to the Quad Cities to gather the bird and help it back to full health.

More than a year later, on Sunday, July 14th, 2013, the team returned and released the bald eagle behind Jumer's Casino and Hotel in Rock Island.

"That was pretty amazing," Redman told News 8. "I'm glad she's free and flying and maybe we'll see her every once in a while when we're out taking pictures in the winter."
