Wednesday through Friday of last week I was scheduled to be at the John Deere Classic for work. With the weather being as nice as it was, I had a little time on my hands. I spent a lot of time “people watching” or more specifically, “shoe watching”.
Let’s backtrack a little.
July probably isn’t the best time of the year to pick up a hobby like running but I gave it a shot several days ago. To get myself motivated, I bought a running outfit complete with running shorts, a shirt, a visor and a iPhone armband. I already own a pair of sneakers and they seem to work just fine but I did browse a few running shoes at the mall and online. I was really impressed with the variety of looks and colors but no so impressed with the prices. Wowsers!
I decided to keep going with the shoes that I already had at home. After attending the JDC though and seeing several people wear these brightly colored running and golf shoes it made me question my decision. Should I splurge? Maybe I will after I train myself to at least run a mile or two without stopping.
