Today, a new event made its inaugural mark in the Quad Cities.

QCAIR's Festival D'Ete took place on Saturday, July 13th, 2013 at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island. Festival D'Ete translates to the "festival of summer," but organizers say the event also cultural diversity.

QCAIR is a new non-profit organization that provides services to local immigrants and refugees, such as giving them a ride to Naperville, Illinois where they need to go to become citizens.

"Fingerprinting and all kinds of things need to be done in Naperville and there's no place closer and a lot of the immigrants don't have funds themselves to be able to get there," says Ed Hanna, President of QCAIR.

The event included live music, vendors, and animals.
