Stricker cuts down golf schedule

Three-time John Deere Classic champion, Steve Stricker cut down his golf schedule as he stepped into semi-retirement.

Retirement for most usually means more golf, but for one golf pro it had the opposite effect.

Three-time John Deere Classic champion, Steve Stricker, cut down his golf schedule as he stepped into semi-retirement.

This means that for the first time in many years, Stricker will not participate in the British Open the weekend of July 19, 2013. Instead, he will celebrate a wedding anniversary.

In 2013, Stricker achieved top ten places in four of the seven tournaments he played in.

“My attitude is fresher,” said Stricker. “That’s what I’m enjoying."

His reduced schedule makes it more difficult for Stricker fans to see him in action, but as he returns yearly to compete in the John Deere Classic, Quad Citians will have that chance.
