A Quad City mom is proudly attending the 2013 John Deere Classic to watch her son compete in the field.

Cathy Haley, from Moline, was at Deere Run to cheer on her son Paul Haley II as he played in his first John Deere Classic.

“That’s where its nerve racking as a mother, because you don’t want them to get fired from their job,” Cathy said with a laugh. “That’s how you keep your card is by how you finish in the rankings. You just hope for the best, you know. You just want them to be successful out here and if they’re doing well you’re just really pleased and happy for them.”

Paul ended Round one on Thursday at even par, shooting five bogeys and making eight par and five birdies.

He completed Round two at two under par after making five birdies, one bogey and one double bogey.
