Jonas Blixt, recent winner of The Greenbrier Classic, July 4-7, 2013, gave News 8 a tour of what he keeps in his golf bag.
From his driver to his golf ball, Blixt isn’t afraid to use the older equipment, as long as it works for his game.
“Right now there’s some old stuff in there that’s kind of been working, and some new stuff that’s kind of been working,” he said. “I kind of mix it up a little bit.”
Blixt said his putter is about five years old, and the Titleist brand ball he uses, isn’t available in stores anymore.
When hunger strikes mid-round, Blixt said he has an American remedy.
“I got some bars, usually like peanut butter and jelly. They kind of work me into the American way of eating,” he said. “It’s great after nine holes, get a little snack and keep the round going.”
After Round one of the 2013 John Deer Classic on Thursday, July 11, Blixt was three over par; and Blixt ended Round two at four under par for the day, and one under in the tournament. Blixt made four birdies throughout the day.
