Visitation and funeral services were set for Jim Overton, founder of the iconic Jim’s Rib Haven restaurant.
Mr. Overton passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the age of 85.
Visitation was planned for Sunday afternoon, July 14 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, 6601 38th Avenue in Moline.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Monday, July 15 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2601 15th Street in Moline. A published obituary says Mr. Overton wished for memorials to be made to the church in lieu of flowers.
Mr. Overton will be buried in the National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal.
